To effectively manage data protection across the business we have a number of named individuals who take responsibility and accountability for ongoing tasks: Senior Owners & Data Champions.
Senior Owners are - you guessed it - senior leaders in the company who own the overall accountability for data protection.
They:
- Are the accountability group for data protection and associated risks
- Provide oversight of all data protection related policies and procedures
- Work with the support of Trust Keith to ensure that our risks are properly considered
- Sit on our regular Risk Committee meetings Chaired by Trust Keith
Data Champions are your first point of contact for any query. Data Champions exist in every department across the company.
They:
- Receive training on how to operate and manage their area of responsibility
- Promote good data governance and data management
- Promote data compliance within their own department and cross-company
- Help enact cultural change across the company </aside>
